177 new Delta variant cases detected by PH Genome Center

The DOH, UP-PGC and UP-NIH today report the detection of additional 177 cases with Delta variant, 102 cases with Alpha variant, 59 cases with Beta variant, and 14 P.3 variant cases from the latest batch of samples sequenced by UP-PGC.

To date, the UP-PGC has sequenced a total of 10,845 samples.

The DOH urged the public to work together to prevent the spread of COVID-19 through continuous adherence to the minimum public health standards.

Likewise, the national government together with LGUs are working towards augmenting our healthcare system, intensifying the implementation of the PDITR strategy, and ramping up coverage of the COVID-19 vaccination program. The DOH also called on those eligible to avail of the government’s free COVID-19 vaccination program.|-BNN
