TANAUAN CITY, Batangas — Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of U.S.-based RTX Corp., is expanding its operations at the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) following a new agreement signed on January 8.
The expansion will add 7,846 square meters to the company’s existing facility, boosting operational efficiency and supporting rising global demand. The new building is scheduled to begin operations in the third quarter of 2026.
“FPIP has been instrumental as Collins has incrementally grown its Philippine-based operations, capabilities and expertise since 2012,” said Mary DeStaffan, Philippine campus general manager of Collins Aerospace. She noted that the expansion will allow the company to better serve the rapidly growing aviation market in the Philippines and the region, as well as airline and aircraft manufacturers worldwide.
Yutaro Kuryu, senior vice president and head of the industrial business group at FPIP, said the move reinforces the Philippines’ expanding role in the global aerospace supply chain.
“This expansion reflects the growing demand for advanced aerospace manufacturing in the Philippines and highlights FPIP’s capability to support companies like Collins Aerospace as they expand while creating jobs for Filipinos,” he said.
Collins Aerospace manufactures aircraft cabin interior components such as galleys, lavatories, and seating systems. It recently produced new economy class seats for Philippine Airlines’ refurbished Airbus A321ceo fleet.
Established in 1996 as a joint venture between First Philippine Holdings Corp. and Japan’s Sumitomo Corp., FPIP spans 600 hectares and hosts over 150 locators employing nearly 80,000 workers.
RTX operates through three major businesses: Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, and Raytheon.|
