Gordon in hospital due to CoVid-19 pneumonia

IN order to be fully monitored and get due treatment, Senator Richard Gordon was admitted at the hospital in Makati Wednesday night, the office of the senator said in a statement released on Thursday afternoon.

“Upon the advice of his physician, Senator Dick Gordon was admitted last night ot eh Makati medical Center for observation and further testing related to COVID-19.

Initial COVID-19 panel test result and high resolution chest CT-Scan finding indicate COVID pneumonia. Sen. Gordon is being treated accordingly and will remain at the MMC until further notice,” the statement read.

The senator relayed to the public his condition on Wednesday that he received his test result indicating he was infected with corona virus and he is undergoing home quarantine.

“I am feeling slightly under the weather but am exhibiting no other symptoms as of now,” Gordon said in a statement. “I will continue to observe my symptoms and report any significant changes to my doctor.”

Gordon who is also the chairman and CEO of the Philippine Red Cross urged those he was in contact with to isolate immediately and undergo an RT-PCR test five to seven days after the exposure.

In several reports, the senator has confirmed he met with Vice President Leni Robredo last week for a possible partnership in the 2022 polls, but disclosed nothing on the details of their talks.

On Monday, Gordon virtually attended the opening of the third regular session of the Senate, and the State of the Nation Address that followed.

He also participated in the plenary session on Tuesday through video conferencing.

Fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Gordon also stressed the importance of getting an anti-coronavirus shot.

“I am grateful for the protection the vaccine affords me today,” Gordon said. “Vaccines work and they save lives.”
