Meralco conducts tree trimming and maintenance activities in Talim Island to boost power service reliability

Must read

Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco) recently conducted proactive tree trimming and maintenance activities across Talim Island as part of its continued efforts to ensure safe and reliable electricity service.

In coordination with the local governments of Binangonan and Cardona in Rizal, Meralco crews trimmed overgrown branches near power lines in different villages. These included Barangay Bombong, Ithan, and Kasile in Binangonan and Barangay Malanggam, Navotas, and Subay in Cardona to minimize the risk of unplanned service interruptions and strengthen the resiliency of its distribution network.

The maintenance drive also served as an opportunity to engage with local officials and residents on how Meralco can help further improve electricity service in the island.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to continuously improve the delivery of electricity service to our customers. Talim Island is an important part of our service area and we are working relentlessly to ensure that our customers here receive the same level of reliability as those in other areas we serve,” Meralco First Vice President and Head of Networks Froilan J. Savet said.

Beyond conducting tree trimming activities and routine maintenance works across its franchise area, Meralco is also actively investing in the upgrading of its distribution facilities to enhance the quality of electricity service to its customers.|
