MPower, Robinsons Malls extend support to school in Laguna

Must read

As part of its commitment to support the country’s education sector, MPower—the retail
electricity supplier (RES) of Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco)—
partnered with Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) to donate learning tools and supplies to San Pedro Central Elementary School in Laguna.

Now on its sixth year, MPower’s Back-to-School Donation Drive aims to enhance the academic experience of its students and teachers through a collaboration with One Meralco Foundation and its partner, Robinsons Malls and Robinsons Land Foundation (RLove).

The latest initiative entailed the provision of television set, printer, bags, educational books, paper products, disinfectants, reusable water bottles, and electric fans, benefitting over 2,000 students and faculty members of the school.

Known for its Special Science Program for grade school learners and its support for Special Needs Education (SNED) and indigent students, San Pedro Central Elementary School is the 37th beneficiary of MPower’s iMPower corporate social responsibility program.

The initiative also aligns with RLC’s R Eskwela program, which prioritizes the rehabilitation and enhancement of learning institutions across the country.

“At Robinsons Malls, we go beyond developing community spaces. We are equally committed to uplift education and empower young learners through our R Eskwela program. We are proud to continue our partnership with MPower in building stronger, more supportive learning environments for the next generation,” said Joel Lumanlan, Vice President for Operations and Marketing at Robinsons Malls.

In addition to the turnover of donations, MPower and RLC hosted a story-reading session to help cultivate literacy and a love for reading among the youth.

“MPower continues to strengthen its support to Filipino education in a world that continues to change. Through our annual donation drive, I am grateful to have partners like Robinsons Land in pushing this initiative forward and bring a brighter future for all,” said Meralco Senior Vice-President and MPower Head Redel Domingo.|
