Must read

Transmission wheeling rates, or the fees collected by NGCP for delivering electricity, went down by 0.27% in the May 2025 billing period, but rates for Ancillary Services rose by 9.29%.

From PhP0.4605/kWh in April, transmission wheeling rates dropped to PhP0.4593/kWh, or a decrease of Php0.0012/kWh.

Ancillary Services rates, on the other hand, went up from PhP0.5175/kWh in April to PhP0.5655/kWh in May, or an increase of PhP0.0480/kWh.

“As a pass-through cost, AS rates are only collected by NGCP and remitted directly to generation companies,” NGCP clarified.

Ancillary Services, also known as support services used to balance and stabilize the grid during power supply-demand imbalance, are sourced from the AS reserve market or from AS providers with bilateral contracts with NGCP.

Overall average transmission rates, in PhP/kWh equivalent, for the May 2025 Billing Period to be translated in the electricity bills of the end consumers this June is at PhP1.1482/kWh, up by 4.60% from April’s PhP1.0978/kWh.|
