TALISAY, Batangas — Authorities recorded series of phreatic eruptions of Taal Volcano early this evening.
Three (3) weak phreatic events, each lasting a minute, occurred at the Taal Main Crater between 7:15 PM and 7:23 PM this evening, 2 August 2024, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
The said volcanic events generate steam-rich plumes that rose 900 meters above Taal Volcano Island.
Taal remains at Alert Level 1 (Low-Level Unrest).
