Lee Cronin’s The Mummy set to haunt cinemas this April

Must read

With horror fans buzzing after the record-setting success of Evil Dead Rise, writer-director Lee Cronin is back to breathe new life into a classic monster. His latest film, “Lee Cronin’s The Mummy,” promises a “twisted retelling” of the iconic legend, and a brand-new clip has just been released to give audiences a taste of the terror to come.

Produced by horror heavyweights James Wan (Atomic Monster) and Jason Blum (Blumhouse), the film shifts away from traditional adventure tropes to explore a deeply personal horror story. The plot follows the young daughter of a journalist who vanishes into the desert without a trace. Eight years later, she is miraculously returned to her family—but what should be a joyous reunion quickly devolves into a living nightmare.

Warner Bros. has released a tense first look at the film titled “The Sarcophagus.” The clip features a team of experts examining a 3,000-year-old artifact [00:26], only to make a discovery that leaves them praying for help [00:33]. The tension peaks as an unexpected horror erupts from within the tomb [00:51].

The film boasts an impressive cast including Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, and Veronica Falcón. The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, only in theaters and IMAX® in North America on April 17, 2026, and internationally beginning 15 April 2026. Stay updated on social media by following #LeeCroninsTheMummy.|
