SAN PASCUAL, Batangas — Police units from three Batangas municipalities served multiple warrants on a man already detained at the San Pascual Municipal Police Station over separate estafa and illegal recruitment cases.
The accused, identified only as alias “Rodelio,” was already in police custody by virtue of a warrant for syndicated illegal recruitment under Section 6 of Republic Act 8042, or the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act, as amended.
On Oct. 2, San Pascual MPS personnel served him a warrant for estafa at around 1 p.m. The case, docketed as Criminal Case No. 2606-455, was covered by a warrant issued by Municipal Trial Court of Rodriguez, Rizal Presiding Judge Edgardo Noel Badong Cruz on June 29, 2026. Bail was recommended at P18,000.
At around 3:30 p.m., Agoncillo MPS personnel served another warrant involving two counts of estafa under Criminal Case Nos. 2606-427 and 2606-428. The warrants were issued by Judge Cruz on Aug. 1, 2021.
Mataasnakahoy MPS personnel followed at around 5:15 p.m. with another warrant covering two counts of large-scale and syndicated illegal recruitment under Criminal Case Nos. 36595-26-SMR and 36596-26-SMR.
That warrant was issued by RTC Branch 175 in San Mateo, Rizal, through Presiding Judge Maribeth Rodriguez Manahan.
Another warrant involving Criminal Case Nos. 34900-25 and 34901-25, issued by Judge Cruz on Oct. 17, 2025, was also served on the detained accused.
Police said the warrants will be returned to the courts of origin for proper disposition.| BNN Integrated News
