Must read

IN a move highly anticipated by her supporters, former Batangas governor Vilma Santos-Recto, put an end to speculations on what position she’s going to run again with her filing of Certificate of Candidacy (COC) in a bid to reclaim her old post at the Batangas capitol, October 3.

The acress-turn-politician Vilma is seeking a comeback as governor under the Nacionalista Party, with her running-mate, a neophyte in government service, no other than her elder son, Luis Philippe “Lucky” Manzano.

Completing the ‘mother and sons’ tandem is Vilma’s youngest son, Ryan Chritian S. Recto who will run for Representative to the Lower House of the Lone District of Lipa City, the post held by his father Ralph G. Recto who resigned as Congressman after he was appointed as Secretary of the Deparment of Finance.

Hours before the team arrived at the Office of the Provincial Election Supervisor (OPES), hundreds of supporters flocked the capitol grounds.

A short program at the makeshift stage in front of the Comelec office commenced after the filing where all the bets running under the banner of One Batangas were introduced to the public.

One Batangas is an aggrupation of political stalwarts and emerging political players under the leadership of Secretary Recto himself. Similar with the Alyansa sa Bagong Pilipinas, aspirants running under the umbrella of One Batangas belong to different political parties, namely the Nacionalista Party, Nationalist People’s Coalition, and Lakas-CMD Party among others.| – BNN
