BATANGAS CITY, Philippines — A total of 3,114 young learners are slated to complete the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Program across various Child Development Centers (CDCs) in the city for the 2025–2026 school year.

Managed by the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development (OCSWDO), the program is designed to fortify the foundational pillars of a child’s growth, focusing on their physical, emotional, mental, social, and intellectual development.

This year’s theme, “First Steps Towards a Brighter Future” (Munting Hakbang Tungo sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan), sheds light on the critical role of early education in molding children into the resilient foundation of a “Bagong Pilipinas.” The curriculum emphasizes that early schooling transcends academic rote learning, focusing instead on the holistic personal and social evolution of every child.

The commencement exercises, which began on Tuesday, March 17, and will continue through March 25, were attended by Mayor Marvey Mariño. He expressed his profound gratitude to the Child Development Workers (CDW), who serve as the primary partners of parents in navigating the first stages of a child’s educational journey.

Joining the ceremonies to offer their congratulations and messages of encouragement were CSWD Officer Hiyasmin Candava and Assistant CSWD Officer Charity Nuñez.

The ongoing graduation series highlights the city’s commitment to providing accessible and high-quality foundational education, ensuring that the youngest Batangueños are well-equipped for the formal school system.| (PIO Batangas City)
