MANILA — The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) has significantly ramped up its enforcement actions, recording the arrest of 332 individuals for various digital offenses during the first quarter of 2026. Data released by the unit on Sunday, April 5, highlights a robust operational period spanning January 1 to March 31, characterized by a high volume of warrant implementations and specialized entrapment missions.

The ACG reported that the arrests were the culmination of implementing 337 cyber warrants over the three-month period. A breakdown of the operations reveals that 205 of the offenders were apprehended through strategic entrapment operations, while 119 were captured via the service of standing warrants. Additionally, eight individuals were arrested during the execution of warrants specifically issued to search, seize, and examine computer data (WSSECD).

Beyond physical arrests, the group demonstrated high activity in digital monitoring and legal processing. The unit successfully referred 593 cases to the appropriate authorities and conducted 7,129 cyber patrolling activities aimed at identifying illicit online behavior. Technical experts within the group also completed 226 digital forensic examinations, which serve as critical evidence in the prosecution of cyber-related crimes.

Humanitarian outcomes were also featured in the report, with the PNP-ACG noting the rescue of 74 victims from various forms of online abuse. The period also saw a legal milestone with 143 individuals successfully convicted for cybercrime violations. These figures reflect the unit’s ongoing efforts to ensure that digital spaces remain secure and that perpetrators face legal accountability.

The PNP ACG is steadfast in its mission to fortify cyber intelligence, sharpen investigative and forensic capabilities, intensify cyber patrols, and expand public awareness programs to effectively address emerging cyber threats,” PNP-ACG chief Brig. Gen. Wilson Asueta said. The statement underscores the group’s commitment to evolving alongside increasingly sophisticated cybercriminal tactics as they enter the second quarter of the year.|
