KEPCO donates alcohol, face masks, vitamins to Solid Baybay

Must read

EVERY year since 2002 KEPCO Ilijan Corporation (KEILCO), a 1200 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant in Batangas City serves at least 2000 residents from the coastal barangays AKA Solid Baybay of Batangas through medical missions.  These medical missions is performed quarterly.  It involves free doctor consultations, medicines, dental services, random blood sugar tests, urine tests, pap smear and “Operation Tuli”.

Since the onset of the Covid 19 pandemic last 2020, these medical missions were halted. KEILCO on the other hand, converted the budget supposed to be used for medical missions into another project that also benefitted the Solid Baybay Area. In this light, KEPCO Ilijan Corporation turned over 280 gallons of alcohol, 328 boxes of face masks and 312 boxes of Vitamins C to Solid Baybay barangays namely Ilijan, Mabacong, Pagkilatan, Dela Paz Proper, Dela Paz Pulot Itaas, Dela Paz Pulot Aplaya, Talahib Pandayan and Talahib Payapa. This was held on April 8, 2021 at the Ilijan Sports Complex and was attended by each barangay’s respective Chairman.

This initiative aims to provide personal protective kits to the front liners of the host and its neighboring barangays and to their residents who cannot afford to purchase these basic necessities.  This is also the proactive response of KEILCO in helping its surrounding communities to maintain safety measures now that the Philippines is facing again rising positive cases of COVID 19.

The recipients were very grateful upon receiving the said donation since most of them are about to replenish their supplies.| – BNN
