THE City of Calaca will hold its first Film Festival in conjunction with the celebration of Calacatchara Festival 2023. From May 1 until May 09, Calacazens can enjoy various short and full-length movies at the Calaca City Auditorium, Barangay Madalunot, Calaca City, Batangas.
This 9-day film festival features diverse range of content from independent filmmakers conveying heartwarming stories of courage and empowerment that would uplift the spirit and provide different perspectives across dramatic themes. This event will also signify the openness of the City of Calaca to bring in more modern art expressions in its community, celebrating freedom of expression and awareness.
Calacazens and film enthusiasts are expected to experience the fun, excitement, thrill, romance and drama as they traverse though various emotions to movies like LSS, Respeto, Blue Room, Dogs Don’t Die They Multiply, Cooking with Love, Serbidora, Super-Able, Hatid, Tokwifi, Luisa at Guada, among others.
The film festival is free to Calacazens but are required to secure tickets on a first- come, first-serve basis. Non-Calacazens moviegoers will pay a minimal amount to watch the movies. The movie schedule is posted at Gawang Calaca PIO, the official Facebook account of the City of Calaca.
The film festival is a significant additional activity to the Calacatchara Festival 2023, Pagdiriwang ng ika-188 na Araw ng Calaca. An opening program will commence the beginning of the film festival with the presence of the City Officials headed by Mayor Sofronio “Nas” Ona, filmmakers, bloggers, LGU employees, students, barangay functionaries and volunteers.
Given the city status of Calaca, this event devotes a venue aimed at elevating the appreciation of its citizenry to higher levels of artistic awareness and expression.|
