BATANGAS CITY — A joint enforcement operation at Batangas Port led to the interception of 12 kilograms of suspected shabu valued at ₱81.6 million and the arrest of four men on October 7, 2026, the Philippine Coast Guard reported.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency led the operation in Barangay Sta. Clara, with participation from Coast Guard units, port authorities, police maritime personnel and terminal operator Asian Terminals Inc. Batangas.

The PCG deployed personnel from Coast Guard Station Batangas and its Southern Tagalog K9-Explosive Ordnance Disposal, special operations, intelligence, and investigation units. The Philippine Ports Authority, Philippine National Police–Maritime Group and other partner agencies also participated.

The four arrested men, aged 18, 29, 30 and 41, were reportedly inbound to the port. They were identified as residents of Malate, Manila, and Maluso, Basilan.

Authorities also recovered a vehicle, a cellular phone, identification cards and ATM cards.

Following the completion of the evidence inventory at around 9 a.m., the arrested individuals and recovered items were transferred to PDEA at 10 a.m.

The turnover was for proper disposition and the filing of appropriate charges for alleged transportation and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act No. 9165, according to the PCG.

The Coast Guard said continued coordination with PDEA would support enforcement against illegal drug transportation through ports and maritime routes.| BNN Integrated News
