PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. praised First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos on Tuesday for joining the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) to advance her commitment to preserving the country’s marine environment.

“Allow me to recognize our First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos who recently joined the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary. This is not surprising because of her commitment to preserving our marine environment,” President Marcos remarked on Tuesday during his attendance at the 123rd founding anniversary of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Port Area, Manila.

“May each of us also find it within us to be a member of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary. And I also see some of the prominent members who have also joined the First Lady in becoming part of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary. Well done,” the President said.

President Marcos honored the PCG for its unwavering commitment and tireless service to the nation, particularly through the conduct of rescue missions, and enforcement of laws against illegal maritime activities and environmental degradation.

The Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary is a non-government, non-political, service oriented, uniformed and voluntary organization adhering to PCG customs and traditions.

Its mission is to assist the PCG in the promotion of safety of life and property at sea, preservation of the marine environment and its resources, conduct of maritime search and rescue, maintenance of aids to navigation, and other activities enhancing maritime community relations. |
