6.7 magnitude earthquake jolts Calatagan in Batangas

A Magnitude 6.7 earthquake hits Calatagan, Batangas at 4:49 AM on Saturday the Philippine Instittute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The epicenter of said earthquake was at 116 kilometers depth of 13.69N, 120.61E – 016 km S 09° W of Calatagan town in western Batangas. It was also felt in Manila, the CALABARZON, Central Luzon, and parts of MIMAROPA regions.

Phivolcs said the tremor is tectonic in origin and aftershocks are expected.| – BNN
