First PGH outside Metro Manila to rise in Cavite

Must read

The groundbreaking ceremony for the first-ever extension of the Philippine General Hospital outside Metro Manila is set this May in Carmona, Cavite, according to Jonvic Remulla.

The new hospital project was announced by Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during the “Bawat Barangay Makikinabang” event held at the General Trias Sports Park on May 4, 2026.

The planned PGH-Carmona facility will initially have a 200-bed capacity and is expected to improve access to quality public healthcare services for residents in Cavite and nearby provinces in Southern Luzon.

Officials said the project aims to help decongest the main PGH facility in Manila while bringing advanced medical services closer to communities outside the National Capital Region.

The expansion is also seen as a major boost to the government’s efforts to strengthen regional healthcare infrastructure and provide more accessible medical care to Filipinos.

Once completed, the new hospital is expected to serve thousands of patients from Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and neighboring areas.|
